Duffy and I are sorry to have taken so long to up-date this blog. It's been a very busy Christmas season. Duffy The Christmassy Dragon was busy raising funds for the C-FAX Santas Anonymous Society and what a lot of fun that was. Many people purchased a copy of the book for their young relatives, with copies going to:
Japan
Australia
France
Dubai
Germany
England
Scotland
Finland
Several of the US States including Texas, California and Florida
Several Canadian Provinces
The campaign was a little late getting off the ground this year, but with Scotiabank's support locally, and many of the merchants on Government Street selling the books, we had a very successful campaign.
Thank you to everyone who came to the craft fairs and to Scotiabank locations and picked up a book. It was great fun meeting some of you and I am very excited about Christmas 2011!!
Duffy wants everyone to know, especially the little ones, that he's so proud to be able to help.
Christmas is fast approaching and Duffy is ready. Another lovely 24 page fully illustrated Duffy story will be available by the end of October. Watch for craft fair dates in the Victoria area too. All net proceeds are donated to charity (i.e. $5.00/copy). This beautiful little book was illustrated by Kara Espeseth, a Vancouver Island illustrator. It sold like hot cakes in the retail book market when it was first released in 2006. With the revised edition Duffy The Christmassy dragon is dedicated to raising funds for great causes.
Duffy and Kate had a great chat with Patty Mack on her Saturday morning show "Life Style" on October 2nd. I'll be providing a link once I have it.
The Tour de Rock is over but the fundraising continues. I'm planning ways to keep the funds flowing for Camp Goodtimes. If you have any ideas you'd like to offer - please send them along.
As I'm new to social media, please forgive my rudimentary skills. Here's a link to the interview with Gregor Craigie on CBC. Move the bar half way along to listen to the interview. Interview with Gregor Craigie - CBC
Duffy loved being in Campbell River and Comox and meeting the team the past two days. Next Monday we'll be in Nanaimo at a big event for the Tour de Rock. If you want to buy a book and have it dedicated for someone, Kate will be at Scotiabank in Sidney on Tuesday 28th 1:00 - 3:30, I'll be in Duncan at the Scotiabank on Thursday 30th 1:00 - 3:30 and in Spirit Square for the closing ceremonies for Tour de Rock on Friday October 1st.
Great news - Duffy and I had an on-camera taped interview with Adam Sawatsky from A channel today and it will be airing either tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday.
Duffy enjoyed talking to Gregor Craigie this morning. If you missed the interview you can find it (as of September 21st) on CBC's podcast. - go to www.cbc.ca - "On The Island" program and then to the On The Island Podcast.
Duffy and Kate (and their friend Jim) are heading up-Island on Tuesday and Wednesday September 21st and 22nd. Duffy will be meeting the Tour de Rock team at "Rockin' the River' in Campbell River on Tuesday afternoon around 4p.m. and then again in Comox at the Scotiabank at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday - YEAH.
